Travel AgentIt has been a joy experiencing the journey of Dream Vacations from the beginning. As co-founder, I have been blessed over the years to be a part of the life experiences and memory making of many travelers from across the nation to gorgeous beach destinations in Mexico, Hawaii and the Caribbean and I’ve had the privilege of exploring and enjoying many of the beautiful resorts in these destinations as well. The growth in Dream Vacations and these personal experiences would not be possible without God, our employees and our close partnerships with Apple and Funjet Vacations and the all-inclusive resorts in these destinations. I am grateful for all the people that Dream Vacations has brought into my life. Thank you to all our customers who share with us our love for travel and exploring new destinations and spending quality time with friends, family and loved ones in unique and memorable ways.

I have traveled to Mexico many times. It’s such a value for the money, so quick and easy to get to, stunningly beautiful and the Mexican people are so friendly, warm and welcoming. Cancun offers great ocean views from the high rise hotels and easy access to shopping, restaurants and night life. Rivera Maya has a great laid back atmosphere, especially for families, with the surrounding jungle, exotic birds and lots of fun in the sun at the pools and leisurely walks in the white sand by the blue water. If you’re looking for relaxation, this is the perfect destination. A very similar experience, if you have already been to the Rivera Maya, is Punta Cana. The beaches are extraordinary and most of the all-inclusive hotels build swimming pools that are just amazing. Staying at the resort and relaxing with loved ones or enjoying a romantic honeymoon or anniversary is perfect in Punta Cana. Puerto Vallarta is a great place if you love authentic Mexican food. The Malecon has many restaurants and lots of history in this old town. One of my favorite places to visit in Mexico, though, is Cabo San Lucas. Since whale watching is high on my top things to do, this is a great place to view whales, often right from the shoreline of the great hotels there. Taking a whale watching or a sunset cruise is highly recommended. Another great place for whale watching is Maui, Hawaii, in fact this is my all time favorite vacation destination. All four islands of Hawaii are unique in their experience and offered so much to do each time I visited. You can go from totally laid back on Kaui, to volcanoes on the Big Island, to lots of action in Oahu or surfing on the North Shore. But for me, Maui combines the perfect mix of authentic Hawaiian culture and indescribable beauty. I also like the Bahamas and Aruba because they are also extremely beautiful and have fantastic food. If you like casinos, these two destinations offer that as well. I will be posting more details about all these great places to visit and things to do while you’re there on future blogs, so check back from time to time to stay up on more great vacation ideas.

Cabo Whale WatchingI’m a huge whale watching fan, so I was delighted when I stayed at the Dreams Los Cabos all inclusive resort in Los Cabos, Mexico in February a few years ago during whale watching season. It was such a treat to sit on my ocean front balcony or swim in the infinity pool and watch the whales frolicking so close off the shore line.

To get an even closer look, we went downtown to Cabo San Lucas and got on a whale watching cruise. It was fantastic! We saw many whales and the crew showed us a great time as we passed the famous Land’s End arches and saw sea lions on the rocks sunning themselves. The coast line was gorgeous, it was a great vacation all around.

My husband and I recently returned from the Zoetry Casa Del Mar Los Cabos on our Valentines Anniversary trip. This is one of THE BEST all-inclusive resorts we’ve ever enjoyed and we’ve been to a lot of them. My favorite thing about this resort is what they call the “Beach Club”. Directly on the beach, there is a heated pool with swim up bar, a hot tub, a restaurant, comfortable lounge chairs on the sand or by the pool, with umbrellas, plush towels and the best service we’ve ever experienced. There were plenty of wonderful and friendly attendants to bring drinks, a cold bottle of water, a fresh towel, whatever you needed. Talk about relaxing!! The sight and sound of the waves, the pelicans diving for a fish, and best of all whales playing just off the shore line! This is my favorite destination in Mexico and now Zoetry Cabo is one of my favorite resorts anywhere!

Villa Premeire Hotel

Villa Premeire Hotel

Puerto Vallarta in winter time is such a welcome relief from the biting cold, snow and ice we left behind in Missouri. It was a short ride from the airport to our Adult Only Villa Premiere beachfront resort. We were immediately greeted with a glass of champagne and complimentary massage. That’s all it took to begin a stess-free escape by the Bay of Banderas with it’s peaceful waves lapping the shoreline. We were given a choice of soothing aromas and pillows for our room. We stayed in the Master Suite that is oceanfront with three different balcony areas, a romantic jacuzzi tub for two, 2 chaise lounges, table and chairs and the absolute perfect miles-long view of the beachline and mountains. The room has a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and big bathroom. It was like our home away from home and we even watched the football playoffs in complete relaxation in our living area.

Malecon in Puerto Vallarta

Malecon in Puerto Vallarta

The Villa Premiere is small, quiet and laid back. They have a sister resort next door, the Buenaventura, that welcomes Villa guests for a more active experience. One of the best features is the close proximity to the Malecon and all the great restaurants, shopping and nightlife. You can walk a few blocks or take a quick taxi ride for $4 to $5 to just about anywhere down town. It felt completely safe and the people are extremely friendly and kind. The service in all the down town restaurants was incredible. If you are doing the EP food plan, you can pick up bottled water and snacks one block away at the Oxxo store for a great price. One of our favorite restaurants in the downtown Romantic Zone was the La Palapa. It’s oceanfront and you can sink your toes in the sand while you dine if you like. The shrimp ceviche, guacamole, fish tacos and chocalate lava cake were wonderful. You can also enjoy watching the watersports adventures like jet skiers, parasailers, fishing and sailing.

But my best experience has been seeing the giant whales playing just off the shore. Since it’s whale season, occasionally they can be seen right from the beach and from the hotel balcony; with the binoculars, it’s even more amazing. There are whale watching tours if you want to get really up close. There’s nothing like witnessing these majestic creatures while enjoying a restful winter vacation at this great beach getaway.
