Arriving at the Iberostar Tucan you will know that you’ve entered a tropical paradise.

Cool breezes sweep through the open air lobby which is complete with statues of Mayan gods and live parrots. With a fruity welcome drink in hand, the bellboys will help you and your luggage to your room. Bright colors and Caribbean décor will leave you with no doubt that your Mexican vacation has begun!

Making your way through the resort grounds, will have you weaving through the unique jungle canopy that only the Iberostar Tucan boasts. Take a look up in the trees and give a little wave to the monkeys, you never know, one may show up on your balcony for a morning hello. Keep your swimsuits inside to dry though; those monkeys can be quite the tricksters! Monkeys aren’t the only animals in this jungle, be sure to check out the flamingos, peacocks and the giant tortoise. The nearby waterfall will send a cool mist in your direction as you enjoy some relaxation time with the animals. For just a moment you may forget you’re in Mexico and wonder how you got to the Amazon.

You’re home away from home will leave nothing to be desired. Your fully stocked room includes a complimentary minibar, stocked with soda, water and beer, iron and ironing board, coffee maker and even a safe to lock up your valuables. You’re balcony will become your oasis, a nice place to rest after a long day at the beach.

With a little help from the Mexican government, the beach at the Iberostar Tucan has become larger and better than ever. Grab a lounge and a Margarita, lay back and get your vacation started. Take a moment to enjoy the breathtaking views that goes on for miles in every direction. The crystal blue and turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea are something you won’t soon forget. Don’t be afraid to dig your toes in the powdery white sand only the Caribbean can offer. On a clear day, you can even see the island of Cozumel across the ocean. If you get a little warm, pull your chair under a palapa or grab a kayak or Hobie Cat and enjoy the refreshing waves in the ocean. Walking about a mile down the gorgeous beach takes you right into the action of Playa del Carmen. It’s a great path to jog in the early morning hours or for a leisurely stroll with your loved ones anytime of the day.

If you’re a pool lover, the Iberostar Tucan has you covered with 4 pools. The main pool is a 36,000 sq ft lake style pool with stunning Caribbean views. With vanishing edges, this pool is perfect for families to enjoy some quality time together and convenient and easy to enter for the little ones. The adult’s only pool gives you a chance to enjoy some adult company while making new friends at the swim up pool bar. If relaxation is what you’re looking for, you can certainly get it here. The nearby kiddie pool offers the opportunity for children to have their own space while Mom and Dad can still keep an eye on them. If a little activity is your interest, make sure to keep an eye out for the entertainment staff. Some of the best in Mexico, the Star Friends won’t let you get bored. With an entire pool dedicated to the activities, join in a poolside dance contest, play a little volleyball, basketball, or even water polo!

With activities for children of all ages, your kids will love Lucy’s club. Split into three groups, The Mini-Club is for kids between 5 and 7, the Maxi-Club is for 8 to 12, and the Teeny Club is for 13 to 16. All while making new friends from all over the world, the staff will organize games and activities, beach and pool outings, there’s even a playground with jungle gyms. You’re kids won’t want to leave!

From the top notch service at each restaurant and bar, to the amazing beach and pools, to the Star Friends who keep you entertained, the Iberostar Tucan is the ideal place for a memorable family vacation. Location

The Iberostar is approximately 30 miles from the Cancun Airport, just a few minutes from Playa del Carmen, and right next to an 18-hole golf course. The resort is situated directly on the beach, within view of the island of Cozumel.

The resort features a jungle-style garden, a large lake pool, nightly entertainment, a disco, three lighted tennis courts, and world class diving instruction with state-of-the-art equipment. Domestic and International drinks are available 10 am to 2 am.

Beach: The Iberostar Tucan is situated directly on a 1/8 mile stretch of white sandy beach. There is a 5- Star SCUBA Diving Center offering optional dives for certified divers and certification courses for new divers (there's an extra charge for these services)

La Gondola - An a la carte Italian restaurant, reservations are required. There is an elegant dress code, gentlemen are requested to wear slacks (no jeans). Hours are 6:30 to 10:30 pm.

Iberostar Hotels and Resorts officially opened the new 18-hole, par 72 Playa Paraiso Golf Club golf course at its Iberostar Paraiso Maya Resort on the Riviera Maya. The P.B. Dye designed course joins nine others on the Riviera Maya and Cozumel belonging to the Mexican Caribbean Golf Association, of which Iberostar is a founding member.
