If you are stuck trying to plan your next vacation and find yourself, once again, saying “I have been to Cancun, Riviera Maya, Punta Cana, and Jamaica about a hundred times each” and are wondering, “isn’t there anywhere else that I can find a nice all-inclusive on the beach?” The good news is that Mexico and the Caribbean is full of tourist destinations that will suit any vacation taste you are looking for and today I will tell you about one you probably have never heard of…
Huatulco (pronounced wah-TOOL-co), Mexico – at the foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur mountain range sits twenty-two miles of beautiful beachfront spread out along nine world famous bays, and the small city that is at the heart of Mexico’s southernmost tourist destination, beautiful Huatulco. Five hundred miles south of Acapulco and due west from Belize, Huatulco averages 330 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 82 degrees. In 2005, Green Globe International certified Huatulco as the first sustainable tourist area in the Americas, due to their widespread environmentally friendly practices and policies. Our most popular resort in the area, the Dreams Huatulco, offers luxurious all-inclusive accommodations for the whole family with their 24-hour Unlimited Luxury program.
Getting the best bang for your buck is what we’re all looking for these days and you can do so when you choose any Palace Resort in Cancun or the Riviera Maya. For example when booking 3 nights or more traveling from June 1st, 2010 through August 31st, 2010 kids 12 years and under stay play and eat for free, except Sun Palace and Adventura Spa Palace. Also included is Palace Passport (valued at $1000.00) that includes unlimited select tours to Chichen Itza, Tulum/Xpu-Ha, Isla Mujeres, Coba, Wet n Wild water park, Zip Line at the Holkan Kingdom Park also including discounts on green fees, spa treatments and motorized water sports.
When booking a Palace Resort you can visit and enjoy the other Palace Resorts in the area with their stay at one play at all program. Each Palace resort is beachfront and equipped with double Jacuzzi tubs, liquor dispensers, 24 hour room service and all offer a la carte dining, buffets, snack bars, all-inclusive unlimited meals and beverages, live music and entertainment, nightly theme parties and shows, many types of non-motorized water sports, and other activities. So if its money your looking to save and lots of family fun give me a call and I’ll determine which Palace Resort is best for you!
Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa has been recognized by Fodors.com as one of their “Top 10 Great Resorts for a Warm-Weather Escape.” The resort earned this special recognition based on their spectacular nightly entertainment, the dramatic views of the beach and the variety of entertainment for adults and children alike.
In January, the Rainforest Alliance recognized Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa and Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa for their advancements and improvements on establishing environmental practices. The resorts are now considered to be among those that possess Best Management Practices in Sustainable Tourism.
Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun has once again been recognized as one of the top resorts in Mexico according to Condé Nast Traveler Magazine’s 2010 Gold List. This award is based on the opinions of over 25,000 esteemed Condé Nast readers and confirms Secrets Capri’s dedication to bringing guests a higher level of luxury
A common question I receive is, “Where exactly is…?”.
Here is a brief breakdown of the Caribbean hot spots in Mexico:
I. Cancun – Cancun is a city along the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula with a population of about 500,000.
- The hotel zone of Cancun is a small peninsula itself, which boasts more than 70 hotels, ranging from budget, to high end luxury. Most tourists, who visit Cancun, will stay within this zone when they go “downtown” to night clubs, restaurants, shopping, etc. Resort suggestion: Le Blanc Spa for couples, or Dreams Cancun for families.
- Actual downtown Cancun is further inland and is a popular destination for cruises. It does not have the glitz and glamour of the hotel zone.
II. Riviera Maya – Riviera Maya refers to the entire area South of Cancun on the Yucatan. Those who stay in a resort in the Riviera Maya will still fly into Cancun and then drive anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to arrive at their destination. There are dozens of wonderful resorts, which boast a more “tropical” vibe than those in Cancun. There are several cities within the Riviera Maya. Here are a few of them:
- Playa del Carmen- Lovely town about 45 minutes from Cancun. This town has a population of about 150,000. It is playground to visitors from all over the world who enjoy a little nightlife and shopping, but want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Resort suggestion: Royal Hideaway for couples or Iberostar Tucan for families.
- Tulum/Akumal- These towns are near each other in the southern part of the Riviera Maya. They are about 1.5 to 2 hours from Cancun and are the home to many beautiful ruins and beaches. Resort Suggestion: Dreams Tulum for couples or families.
- Puerto Morales- is a small town between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. There are a couple of really neat resorts within this area. It is about 30 minutes from Cancun and about equal distance to Playa del Carmen.
III. Cozumel – This is an island off the coast of Playa del Carmen. You would take a ferry to fly into this destination. It is very popular to divers because of the location on the Palancar Reef. It is the world’s 2nd largest coral reef. Resort suggestion: Aura by Wyndham for couples or the Iberostar Cozumel for families.
I hope this helps, but don’t hesitate to call us for more info!
