When I toured the Ocean Blue Resort in Punta Cana, I was very satisfied with the overall atomosphere and cleanliness of the property. The resort seemed to be geared more toward American travelers with plenty of dinning options, large pools and the resort is a family of five freindly property (meaning that they will take 2 adults and 3 kids in room where as many other resorts will not).
When walking into the lobby, it’s all open air with a big fountain in the center and marble floors all around. The rooms were great! Very large, all with king beds or two queens. They have big balconies, big beds and are very comfortable. The restaurants looked very sharpe and inviting. You can even get Budweiser served at the Route 66 dinner and the lobby bar. There are no reservations required for dinner and there is no limit to the amount of nights you can eat at the al a carte restaurants.
The beach at the Ocean Blue is fantastic! They have plenty of shaded chairs, beach beds and typically very few high waves because of the coarl reef. The beach beds have a drape of thin white cloth to block the sun, very cool. They also have a golf course rite on site. It’s a par 72 course, $100 approximate green fees. Guests staying in the Ocean Blue will recieve a 30% discount off of the green fee. They have a casino on site, a decent size kids club and even a bowling alley and kids shows at night.
In 2010, the Ocean Blue resort was our 3 overall requested resort so many of our clients chose this hotel for their families as well!
