In fact, I had personally been there even before I started working in this field, and obviously, I loved it! Now, I am able to recommend and/or book it for someone nearly every day.

The all inclusive Iberostar Tucan is a lovely resort located on a near perfect white-sand beach in the Playacar area of the Riviera Maya. For those not familiar with Playa, it’s a very nice, quiet, and safe gated area about 45 minutes south of the Cancun airport. From the resort, one could easily walk to downtown, called “5th Avenue” either along the beach or via the lovely sidewalks through town. There are even a few Mayan ruins worth checking out on your stroll. If you prefer, there are bikes, mopeds, or taxis for around $5 each way.

The location is great, but what makes this resort a star is it’s one-of-a-kind atmosphere. In fact, the resort is situated under a jungle canopy! There are monkeys swinging in the trees, parrots, flamingos, waterfalls, and beautiful tropical vegetation everywhere. The enormous lake-style pool, separate adult-only pool, kids-only pool, and sports-pool only add to the lively and upbeat atmosphere and make everyone feel comfortable and ready for a great vacation.

I really can’t say enough about this place. I’ve been talking about it for years, and I will continue to harp about the Iberostar Tucan until everyone I speak to gives it a shot. Just ask me about! On my Jamaica vacation my husband and I stayed at the lovely Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay, Jamaica. During our week long trip, we were able to take a catamaran snorkeling excursion off-site. The pick-up was not far from our hotel, so we were picked up in the lobby and taken to the pier to be whisked away to sea. Once on water snacks and beverages were served up with some cool Caribbean beats. We lounged on the catamaran until we reached the reef where we were allowed to snorkel either along side a guide, or at our leisure.

After we had finished snorkeling, we were taken to the seaside Senor Frogs in Negril, where we could order lunch, grab a drink, or use their super fun water trampoline. After Senor Frogs we were taken back to shore and then back to the hotel, just in time for a fabulous Iberostar night.  It was so much more than just snorkeling in Jamaica!
