The New Riu Palace Jamaica

Riu Palace Jamaica roomI just returned from a trip to the new adults only Riu Palace Jamaica in Montego Bay. This hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport and is located next to the Riu Montego Bay. The Palace is a fairly small hotel with only 238 rooms built in a U shape. I just loved how easy it was to get around the resort. It took us only 3 minutes to get from our room to any part of the hotel.

Our room was very nice with a jacuzzi tub and large balcony. We had a view of the main pool and a partial view of the ocean. Room service was in early and did a wonderful job. The mini bar service does offer Miller Lite in case you need a break from the traditional Red Stripe beer. The balcony looks over the main area of the hotel so they are definitely not as private as other hotels. We did like being able to see what was happening and we actually watched 2 different shows from the comfort of our balcony.

I thought the food was great. NO RESERVATIONS were required for dinner. This is a huge change on the normal Riu Palace dining process and we were able to dine where and when we wanted each evening. I thought Krystal was the best a l carte restaurant but I truly enjoyed each of them. The main buffet is where you will eat for breakfast and lunch. The buffet offered everything and the service was very good. The room service menu is very limited, however they do have food in the Aqua (sports) Bar available 24 hours a day.

Riu Palace Jamaica pool

The hotel has 2 pools. One pool has a swim up bar and both have pool waiter service. The beach here is beautiful and the water was always calm and inviting. This is not a long stretch of beach that you can walk along but more of a little pocket that you can swim and snorkel in. Bring your floatable and lounge in the ocean. The water is so calm and much more refreshing then the pool water.

This hotel is pretty active at night and can be a little loud due to the size and layout. If you like small hotels that are easy to manage and a nice calm ocean this is the place for you. I have been to many Riu hotels and this one ranks right at the top for me. You do see some airplanes come by 4-5 times per day but it did not bother me a bit, I actually enjoyed seeing them. Call me today and let me send you to Paradise in Jamaica.

Riu Palace Paradise Island Bahamas

Riu Palace Paradise Island PoolI just returned from a wonderful vacation at the Riu Palace Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Paradise Island and Cable Beach have wonderful turquoise water and white sandy beaches! The Riu is located right next to the Atlantis and you can access the Atlantis 100 yards from the Riu Lobby.

The Riu Palace is a high rise building with wonderful ocean views. I had an oceanfront room with a huge balcony and an amazing view. The room was big and the bed was very comfortable. Our mini bar was stocked daily and the maids were in early each day to clean and get us fresh towels.

The pool at the Riu is a little on the small side but they keep it very clean and it did have plenty of chairs. You do need to get out early if you want to reserve the best chairs. If you’re a beach lover this hotel sits on an amazing stretch of white sandy beach and the water is as pretty as I have ever seen! You do need to deal with the vendors but we all need to make a living and a simple no Thank you would send them on their way.

Riu Palace Paradise Island RoomI really enjoyed the buffets. The servers were excellent and for dinner they had a different theme each night. We dined at three of the Ala Carte restaurants and Krystal was our favorite. Kevin was our waiter and the
food matched the amazing service! The 24 hour sports bar has snacks all day and night and they also offer 24 hour room service.

The entertainment team was super and we enjoyed the daily activities as well as the evening shows. We spent our days on the amazing beach or out snorkeling and sight seeing. Stuarts Cove is great for all snorkeling, snuba, scuba and more. This is one of the few dive shops that offer shark feeding trips. In the evening time you can enjoy the great show at
the Riu or head over to the Atlantis for the night.

This is not the best of the Riu Palace hotels but it is one of the few All Inclusive hotels in Nassau and by far the best All Inclusive on Paradise Island. The Bahamas is beautiful and the Riu has a marvelous location and a wonderful staff.
Call me today and I can help with your next Bahamian Vacation !

What does it mean to “Go All-Inclusive”?

All-Inclusive means you can truly relax and indulge on your vacation, because it’s all included for one incredible price. Apple Vacations packs just about everything in our all-inclusive vacation packages — including transportation, your hotel stay, meals and drinks. Vacationers love the financial predictability of all-inclusive getaways, because our ‘one price buys all’ means you get to leave your wallet at home

So, what’s included in an All-Inclusive Apple Vacation?

  • Roundtrip airfare
  • Your Hotel Stay
  • Roundtrip transportation to and from the airport and your hotel
  • An Apple Representative, in resort, to assist you
  • Meals, snacks, soft and alcoholic beverages
  • Non-motorized watersports at most resorts
  • Daytime activities, nightly entertainment
  • All Tips

What’s does going All-Inclusive mean to you?

  • Relax and let your worries float away, because everything is already paid for.
  • Enjoy what you want, when you want it, without the hassle of planning, budgeting, or coming home to stacks of credit card bills.
  • Indulge in a culinary experience, along with all the drinks you want, live entertainment and many resort and beach activities

Are All-Inclusive resorts all the same?

No. Many resorts go above and beyond what you might expect, offering a wide range of specialty restaurants serving gourmet cuisine plus abundant international buffets, premium-brand alcoholic beverages, room service, supervised kids’ clubs and world-class spas. Even avid cruisers may want to re-think their vacation options when considering the cost differential between a cruise and a land-based all-inclusive vacation.
